Lema May Mousilli is a seasoned trial attorney who founded Mousilli Law, PLLC in Houston, Texas. For nearly two decades, she has represented businesses, founders, and individuals in complex commercial, technology, and intellectual property disputes in courts across the United States and abroad. Ms. Mousilli maintains active dockets in multiple jurisdictions and has achieved successful outcomes through strategic litigation, including trials, appeals, and high- stakes motions practice.
She is admitted to practice in numerous federal district courts, state courts, and appellate courts. Ms. Mousilli regularly handles oral arguments at both the trial and appellate levels, leveraging her deep courtroom experience to advocate effectively for her clients. Her practice encompasses high-stakes commercial litigation, contract disputes, fiduciary duty claims, intellectual property matters, statutory claims, business torts, and other complex civil litigation.
Drawing on her extensive litigation background, Ms. Mousilli also serves as a Texas-certified mediator since 2005, facilitating resolutions in complex commercial, business, and multi-party matters. She is often appointed by courts to mediate high-conflict cases, where her trial experience enables realistic assessments of litigation risks, procedural hurdles, evidentiary burdens, and practical consequences.
Additionally, Ms. Mousilli represents clients in arbitration proceedings, including international arbitrations involving cross-border commercial and intellectual property disputes. Her arbitration work includes managing pre-hearing strategy, evidentiary presentation, witness examination, and post-hearing briefing, all informed by her robust trial skills.
Before founding her firm, Ms. Mousilli was a litigation partner at an intellectual property boutique firm, where she managed a nationwide docket involving technology-focused companies and complex commercial matters. Earlier in her career, she practiced at national and regional litigation firms, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in matters including commercial litigation, pharmaceutical and medical device litigation, catastrophic injury and wrongful death, medical malpractice, and counter-terrorism.
Ms. Mousilli is natively fluent in Arabic and actively engaged in pro bono representation, particularly in asylum and human rights matters. Her work supports individuals navigating complex legal systems under challenging circumstances.
Beyond her legal practice, Ms. Mousilli is active in the community and committed to advancing education and fairness. She has taught Business Law and Constitutional Law as an Adjunct Professor and has served as an emcee and participant in several nonprofit and community events.
She also maintains a strong interest in the intersection of law and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and its impact on the future of litigation.
